Back in the dim, dark ages of 2005, we began Shanghai's first weekly Pub Quiz -simply because we liked quizzes and no-one else was doing one.

We started at the then British Bulldog Pub. Since then, through the vagaries of bars changing hands, undergoing months of renovations or just plain going out of business, we've moved around a bit.

After three and a half years at the Bulldog, we moved a whole 100 metres to O'Malley's Irish Pub and enjoyed their hospitality for two and a half years. When they closed for extensive renovations, we next took the quiz to the Camel Sports Bar for just under a year, then off to Tam O'Shanter Bar on Yongfu Lu (sadly no longer with us) for a further year.

Lastly, we've fetched up at our new permanent home, Grub & Groove Bar on Jianguo Lu.

Through all that, we've enjoyed the custom of some remarkable quiz teams - some of whom even had team names you can mention in polite company! Of those, there are still a couple of teams who, despite the fast-changing nature of Shangai's expat population, date back to those first quizzes at the Bulldog.
